A quick assesment of how the data is changing over time can be achieved using a the Add Mulit-Temporal Mapy Layer block. This allows you to create an RGB composite with a different date for each colour channel.
Instructions to create a multi-temporal RGB composite
Create a step-by-step guide
Step 1: Choose your data and include the recommended blocks
- For example, load sentinel 1 data for the last year over an area of agricultural fields.
- Aggregate the images into time periods over which you want to look for change. For example, if looking at agricultural crops, you might look at the montly mean.
Step 2: Replace the Add Map Layer block with the multi-temporal block
- Replace the Add Map Layer block with the multi-temporal block.
- If you have aggregated by month, then you will have a choice of months in the drop-down list for the RGB bands. This list will change depending upon which time period you aggregate over.
- Adjust the visualisation options to something appropriate, such as the 98th percentile.
- Your workflow will now look something like this:
Step 3: Run the workflow
- Each colour channel will represent a different time period.
- Areas that have changed will be clearly identifiable by their colourful hues.
- Areas that have not changed (in this example, buildings or forests) will be shades of white to grey (ie, no hue).
