Use this dataset

Modified on Tue, 2 Apr at 2:10 PM

The Use this dataset block is a container block. It can contain all other blocks (filter, analysis and output blocks) used to build a workflow.

Choose which dataset to use in your workflow using the Search datasets field. This may be an image collection or a feature collection.

You can choose a dataset from:

  • the Earth Blox dataset catalogue
  • Assets (any datasets you or your team have uploaded)
  • Project datasets that have been created in the project and saved for re-use, and features uploaded to the map.

Searching the dataset catalogue

Use the tags to populate the search bar, or type keywords to find a dataset.

Clicking on a dataset shows you a description of the dataset, the frequency, time period, resolution, and coverage (shown on the map).

You can see the available bands for image collections (raster datasets) in the Bands tab.

Add recommended blocks

At the bottom left of the dataset finder, there is a check box labelled ‘Add recommended blocks’ which is selected by default. This adds all of the blocks needed to create a basic workflow using the dataset.

If the box is unchecked, blocks won’t be added to the workflow, and you will need to drag and drop them from the Toolbox.

Changing the dataset in a workflow

If you have already built a workflow and wish to change only the input data to that workflow, click on Change Dataset, select the new dataset, and uncheck the ‘Add recommended blocks’ option. This will change the dataset without modifying the existing workflow.
